Maximizing Potential

 

Residents come to us with a variety of needs - many coming from the hospital setting and needing some type of therapy. These services, whether provided by a licensed therapist or a trained restorative aide, are vital to assist the resident in reaching his/her optimum level of independence and well-being. We have licensed therapists on duty seven days a week depending on residents status. This includes Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy. We also have staff on duty seven days a week to provide a variety of restorative programs.

The therapies provided: Occupational therapy, which teaches adaptive dressing techniques, posturing with feeding, eating, and self-care; physical therapy, which deals with ambulation, transfer, balance, and mobility training; and speech therapy, which works with swallowing problems, cognitive status, communication, and hearing problems.

Chapel

This area can be closed off for Bible studies, church services, communion, pastoral visits, or just a place for residents and/or families to quietly meditate on the blessings of life.

We offer church services for several denominations. Catholic Communion on Sundays with Mass on Thursdays and Rosary every Monday. Protestant Worship is offered on Tuesday with Communion Worship every first Wednesday of the month. Anyone can attend these services. We also have residents who go out and attend their own local churches.

Lounges

There are two resident lounge areas located at the end of the resident wings. These lounges provide an intimate setting for resident and visitors. Residents have access to these areas at all times. A phone is provided for resident use, as well. Also, a big screen television is located in each lounge.

Courtyard

A spacious courtyard has been designed to enhance the atmosphere of the residents' home. The courtyard is secured by a fence to ensure safety and privacy for the residents, and is accessible by one of the resident lounges.
